On Sunday 24th November we presented our newest collection, TSS Chai, at the National Gallery of Victoria as part of their Melbourne Now exhibition opening weekend. The new collection features designs from The Social Studio team along with pieces from emerging designer Atong Joseph and the Twich Women’s Sewing Collective. We also showcased super fly adorments by artist Lisa Hilli at the show, which will also be in-store soon.
Dance and music performances on the day included a trio of Karen-Burmese dancers Mu Mu, Thaw Su and Eh Su who also work at The Social Studio, Ethiopian music and dance by Anbressa Gebrehiwot & Almaz Gebru, incredible traditional dance from the Dinka Bor Dance Troup and catwalk hip-hop and soul performance by Muma Doesa & Quashani Bahd.
Thanks to everyone who joined us and helped out on the day. Visit the shop to see the new collection!
