TSS SPRING GALA Music to make you move!

Trudging our way through winter there’s a warm light at the end of the tunnel.. September 5 – The Social Studio Spring Gala – a night of fashion, food and music! Our Early Bird ticket special is set to end August 1, so get in quick to score yourself a deal and a seat!

Here’s an update on the night’s events that’s sure to get you excited…

WEPGala

According to The Vine World’s End Press is ‘the local dance-band we require, comfortably providing all the muscle, funk and hooks required for a single-serving of party-in-a-packet.’ And that ‘party-in-a-packet’ is set to take the stage and make you dance at our Spring Gala!

If you haven’t since this Melbourne four piece before… you’ve been missing out. Lead by John Parkinson on vocals and guitar powered by the elastic funk of Sashi Dharann on bass and the pulsing beats of Tom Gould on drums, drawn together by the kaleidoscopic sounds of Rhys Richards’ keys. Together, the four make intelligent, widescreen pop – as danceable as it is loveable.

Since releasing their self-titled debut album in 2013, produced by Tim Goldsworthy (Massive Attack, The Rapture, Hercules & Love Affair) and mixed by Bruno Ellingham (Spiritualised, New Order), the band has been jetting around Australia and the US playing with the likes of Hot Chip, Bloc Party, Cut Copy and most recently supporting Architecture in Helsinki, wowing crowds with their infectious swirling disco meets after-dark beats sound.

FlorelieEscanoGala

Melbourne soul artist Florelie Escano and her sizzling nine piece band are ready to deliver soulful and energetic set that promises to have you on your feet all night!

Inspired by the sounds of legendary musicians, such as Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone and James Brown, Florelie writes, arranges and produces all of her music at Counter Clockwise Studios in Melbourne, with the help of award-winning UK Producer and hip hop artist, LOTEK.

Florelie has been performing nationally and internationally for several years and has collaborated with some of Melbourne’s best musicians such as Adam Rudegeair, Mikey Chan (M-Phazes) and Lucas Taranto (Gotye) to name a few.

We’re delighted and super excited to have both groups performing for you so make sure you get your ticket and join us on the dance floor on September 5. In the meantime make sure you head over to both artists websites to listen to some tunes, get in the groove and practice yours moves!
